I thought they had laid off all the hardware people a while ago. But WebOS Nation says “almost entirely in engineering (those that make webOS work with hardware)”.

They also say the current complement is around 500, so this reduces it to around 225.

It’s ‘webOS’, not ‘WebOS’; ‘oversee’, not “over see”; “time-being”, not “time being”; and “a smaller team is needed”, not “a smaller team is need”.

“Most of the affected employees are engineers,
which makes a lot of sense, since HP has no current plans to offer any
more WebOS hardware.” What does laying off engineers have to do with the hardware being discontinued? Who do you think writes and tests all of the software and services? They’re all engineers.

“The laid off workers will join former Palm executive Jon Rubinstein…” Who is joining him, and where? On his hammock in Mexico?

Are no credentials required to write this stuff nowadays?

I just got one of these touchpads a while back and I really like webos! I put cm9 on it but I find myself using webos more and enjoy the experience more. Too bad for that team. Wish um the best, Im sure with their talents they will land on their feet.
