- The easiest answer is because Samsung ripped off the iPad 2, which by looking at the two really can’t be argued.

Then why did Apple photoshop the images for trial to make them the same form factor. The squashed the the samsung so it looked like it had a 4×3 screen.

They did it with the Galaxy S too.

The fact that you get so worked up by what OS you use is great, you might want to get out a little more. I used Android since the OG Droid came out, but switched over to the iPhone 4 when it came to VZW, the reason I switched was the apps, Android has a terrible app lineup, most are completely unusable, especially compared to iOS’s apps. But I love that Android is doing what their doing, because they have helped make Apple that much better.

But heh, keep it, your always good for a laugh!

I do feel HP gave up to easy. They needed to face up to the problems with Touch Pad and make something great. Perhaps Leo Apotheker was the real bug in this development program.

You don’t know how to read the numbers.. the tablet market grew, this time including Android tablets.. iPad sales have increased, although the market as a whole increased simultaneously.

Android is an OS not a phone. Technically, rim beat any any single Android manufacturer with 20% of the market.. and apple took the top position by a landslide.

It’s a little pathetic to consider it a win only by lumping together every other handset maker in the market.. don’t you think?

Cough cough wealthiest company in the world..

They make more money selling gadgets than Exxon does selling oil.. with gas at 4 bucks a gallon..

From what I can tell from my daughter and her teenage friends.. playing mp3s on your phone isn’t preferred.. she has an Android phone and a 3rd gen 64gb she saved quite some time for..no tpain, no ladida, no glee etc apps for Android.. and the audio subsystem on.Android has such a lag that games like tap tap become nearly unplayable..

Even my EVO3d has audio lag. It’s a base level deficiency that all reports indicate ice cream sandwich does not resolve.

This article seems like a bunch of bullshit to be honest. I have my touchpad running at 1.5ghz with WebOS 3.0.2 and logging turned off with a Preware Patch, and its easily as fast as my wife’s iPad 2. The only problem with the touchpad was half baked software, which has already been mostly corrected.

I would personally love if they made WebOS open-source like they do Android. I personally find the OS fantastic.

You need to consider Apple only sells three models of the iPhone at the moment, (iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 for AT&T, Verizon) compared to approximate 30 models of phones hosting the Android OS.

Stating that Android destroyed iPhone sales by more than 35% without attributing to the sheer number of phones being sold with the Android OS is a moot point. I am an Apple and Android user, using an iPhone 4 and an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S2 (GSM for travel) and they both offer a great platform.

However, you cannot disagree that the Apple iPhone 4 (or any other variation) is the single-best selling smartphone. While the Android OS may have the best selling operating system, we are talking about the unit itself, not the OS. I could be wrong, but besides the classic Motorola RAZR, I don’t believe there is a single device that has sold more units than the iPhone.

Yeah, it seemed all along that HP was putting a half hearted attempt into the hardware for WebOS. . . and to make it worse they make significant numbers of the devices. No idea what the person in charge of all this was thinking. The minimum CPU should have been at least a Tegra 2. Better yet, they should have waited and been the first out with Tegra 3 chips. Guess HP just can’t make hardware deals like they used too.

You do realize tht 50% of cell phone users use their cell phone as their music player, don’t you? And you do realize that cell phones sell ~1billion/year and the ipod. . . what 40million?

Yeah, the ipod is the leading digital music player. . . NOT!

You also realize that all the market share about the iPad excludes Windows tablets, the Nook Color, e-readers, etc. . .? Apple is only a market leader in fictitious categories that exclude devices that do the same thing and more.

Sure I’ll reply. Android destroyed iphone sales by more than 35% the last 5 quarters. Ipad sales have slumped off more than 21% care to keep running your mouth fanboy? Oh you can push policy to android now something you cant do on an iphone, ipad, idouche etc.. unless you’re running apple servers and they have really kicked a%$ in that market. If android tablets were nothing to worry about why’d apple just sue samsung? Douche nozzle…

Proofs are in. HP failed to compete with iPad. BlackBerry is next. Android will hang around but no one will buy their tablets. It’s all over again. When the iPod was first revealed, there were 65 different mp3 players available. How many are still around now?

HP’s webOS guys were able to get it running and benching on an iPad? Those guys have to be more pissed off than anyone ever that they couldn’t get some real hardware to run on. Leak those builds and the porting process, you tools! There are a ton of people that would put webOS on good hardware. Like me for one!
