The writer of this article somehow managed to project the old video cards onto these new systems, the 14 inch comes with the reduced power 5650, which is more powerful than in the 13 inch Envy. The 17 comes with a 5850, which is substantially more powerful than the 5830.

I would change these in a hurry seeing as many users were going crazy hoping for a better GPU, me included. You can watch the video again, he clearly states the GPU for each.

As a January 2010 Envy 15 owner I have a couple questions for the author of this article or HP themselves.

Are the Envy 17 and 14 REPLACING the 15 and 13 or will we see an update to those models as well?

Will a matte or anti-glare screen be an option on either the 14 or the 17? I'm guessing not with the E2E glass.

does the mini DP support analog out? For example if I get an Envy 14 will I be able to get a mini DP to vga adapter for a MacBook and run a projector or legacy monitor off that?

On my Envy 15 the front edge of the case is a little sharp on the wrists after using the machine for a while on a flat surface. If I incline the notebook slightly it is drastically improved. I am wondering if HP beveled the front edge of the new Envys to alleviate this problem?

Another annoyance I have with my 15 is that the screen leans an embarrassingly little amount back past 45 degrees. With the new hinge design is this better? How about a picture with the screen leaned back as far as it will go?

Is cooling performance sacrificed due to the addition of the internal DVD drive? I actually like the external one better.

Is the RAM accessible VIA that removable panel on the underside? That would be awesome.

Do the palmrests get as hot as the ones on the Envy 15? it's not an issue at idle but when I'm playing a intensive game like Borderlands they get quite toasty.

Switchable graphics is awesome.

I also thank them for getting rid of that annoying row of shortcut keyboard keys on the left side of the keyboard. It's more annoying than helpful.

I would be carrying this notebook around campus with me to and from classes and whatnot. Is the Envy 17 to big and or heavy to comfortably fit in a backpack?

Is there a slice battery available for the Envy 17?

Lastly: Anyone want an i5 540M matte 1920x1080 LCD 320GB HDD HP envy 15?
