HP has announced a new small and compact portable HDD that is perfect for pairing with notebooks that user’s take with them on the road a lot. The small HDD can be had in 500GB, 750GB, and 1TB capacities and the drive features USB 3.0 connectivity for faster backups. The drive is also USB 2.0 compatible.

The drive is able to get all the power and connectivity it needs from the single USB port in addition to connectivity for transferring data. The portable HDD measures 4.47″ L x 3.15″ W x 0.75″ H and weighs 200gm.

The drive is designed to work with Windows XP, Vista, and 7. HP also covers the portable HDD with a 2-year limited warranty on the hardware. Pricing and availability on the portable drive is unavailable at this time.
