I watched the touchpads as they were sold. The vast majority bought only 1 or 2 touchpads. They’re more likely to be gifted for x-mas than sold.

I also don’t see how this particular instance is a scam.

Other things that aren’t logical:
- Charging $19 for standard ground shipping on a 3 lbs item - Separately shipping from the same warehouse to the same location
- Shipping across the country from Las Vegas, NV to NJ when there’s a shipping warehouse one town over

I would have almost rather someone pocket my $19.

If I’m reading all these posts right, nobody actually successfully puchase anything including myself. Last night all Ebay did was zero out my cart repeatedly for the entire 20 minutes of sale availability. Major bummer!

This is not the first time HP has run a scam on the touchpads, they had one roughly a month ago.
You registered as a developer, had to give extensive personal and complete paypay information. Then they promised a coupon to buy one so folks could develop WebOs products. Same crap. The funny thing not everyone wants to resell on ebay, some really like the product. But HP really burned folks when they did not have to. What sense is this? The really hurt their reputation and stockholders with practices like these.

Got dicked on this deal… I had 2 set to buy it now, clicked the buy the second the priced changed… Then eBay died.. wanted 16gb units.

HP should have help a personal lottery where individuals could offer their contact info to assure multiple people didn’t get multiple items, could have gotten $125 & $175 for the devices, and had better publicity to boot.

Complaining of a $19 shipping fee on a $99 touchpad is … not logical. Would a $19 shipping fee on a iPad be idiotic-whether or not the device was $99 or $499?
