If you’re like me, you never have an internet connection that’s fast enough. At 30 Mbps download speeds, Verizon’s FIOS fiber optic to the home network can deliver speeds that can satisfy the bandwidth needs of many an internet junky.
With a higher reported quarterly earning, Verizon has said it will be spending close to $18 billion dollars in the coming years on FIOS installs. This is certainly good news as at this time the service is only available in limited areas.
The service offers download speeds ranging from 5 Mbps to 30 Mbps for $40 to $180 a month. Upload speeds still enjoy their strict limitations with 2 Mbps for the lower plans and 5 Mbps for the 30 Mbps plan.

I’ve been using fios for almost 6 months now, i have to say, best internet connection ever. very reliable
Uh… $180 a month is quite a bit off base for many users.
I think I pay $60 a month for the 30Mbit service with 5Mbit upload
I also have Verizon’s VOIP, called “Voicewing” and FIOS TV service, including some pay channels and four HD DVR’s, which brings the monthly total up around $200 per month.
Overall it is the most reliable Internet service I’ve ever had, and I get much closer to the advertised data rates on a regular basis than with either DSL or cable. This makes it seem much more than twice as fast as my old 15/2 cable service.
