I really don’t see the kinect as all to important to “gaming” in much any way, i mean for games that are “touch” enabled such as fruit ninja, this is a nice alternative way to play but other than that i find my kinect to either just be there, or be connected to my PC. i say microsoft should either find a real use for it or move it more into the PC accessory category.

The reason why Kinect was so gimmicky is because Microsoft removed the processor and had it run through the system, which led to delayed reaction with most of the original applications. If the new system is much more powerful or the new Kinect has its own processor it may actually live up to the original hype. In theory the Kinect is a great idea, it was just handicapped at launch by Microsoft, I doubt they would do that again.

You all have no vision. Just because game developers have not done well in taking advantage of the sensor, does not mean they won’t in the future. Think VR, Think Holodeck. You sound like a bunch of phone gamers.

what would happen if I take a drink of cola or have a ciggerette or eat pizza and drink alcohol or prescribed drugs or do something even worse while im playing a new kinect game seeing that it will trace even our fingertips? Will my avatar be doing the funky chicken while im distracted?

After watching many funny angryjoe youtube clips eviscerating kinect games I’m glad that the penny has dropped: it is a novelty accessory, fun for a few party games.
If we could play immersive games without moving a muscle, we would. That we have to twitch finger muscles is a liability, but one I can live with until they do a mind tap.
Instead of advancing controller design so it was more accurate comfortable and pleasurable to use they threw all that out the window in a rush to put the Wii out of business. Sony made the same mistake with the Move and motion sensing in the controller, but at least they added back controller vibration and clearly haven’t bet the house on full body motion control succeeding.

if its even 1 percent I will buy the ps4 and wii u
