It’s news like this that makes me think that I’ve been staying at the wrong hotels when I travel. I don’t stay in the slums or anything, but I’ve also never been to a hotel that has offered Guitar Hero as a form of entertainment.

Hotels offer Guitar Hero

I can recall two hotels that did offer gaming as entertainment, however, it was poorly-executed at best. Your room would have a Nintendo 64 controller (yes, this was very recent) which would lead you to believe that there was a console hidden somewhere in your room. However, it was simply a service to which you would have to subscribe for the night, which would allow you to play a few of your favorite N64 titles. I’m thinking it was something like $8 or $9 for the night to play.

Apparently hotels like the Monaco in Seattle are offering Guitar Hero to keep you entertained in the bar (it’s better than karaoke, that’s for sure). The Hotel Sax is really going above and beyond though, they are working on creating a special Xbox Live network which would allow you to play Guitar Hero and Rock Band in your room, for free. Now that’s what I’m talking about!
