It’s great to have a hard drive that can store a lot of data, but that’s not the only thing that matters. To keep up with today’s demanding software, you need a drive that is fast. Hitachi has unveiled a new hard drive that blows the competition out of the water in terms of speed.

The Travelstar 7k200 is a 2.5-inch drive that boasts transfer speeds up to 22 percent faster than their top competitor. These will be available in sizes ranging from 80GB up to 200GB and feature built-in file encryption.

Look for these to go on sale this summer with the 200GB flavor retailing for around $249.
