hField Technologies has begun production of the Wi-Fire. The Wi-Fire is a Mac-compatible USB directional high gain antenna. In to stealing WiFi? Well this thing is what you’ve been wanting for a long time then, put down the cantenna and connect one of these. With as purported range of 1000 feet there aren’t very many practical uses for such a device other than war driving.

The device itself measures 3×4x3/8 inches and collapses when not in use, but when you are using it, it can be put on top of a laptop screen. There is included software that allows you to see all of the available networks when using it, too bad there is no motor to turn it like on the old naval ships. Although it was made to be Mac compatible, it also works with Windows XP and it is shipping now for the hefty price of $80.
