HeadPlay announces Personal Cinema System

The new startup company HeadPlay has released the Personal Cinema System, which puts video right infront of your eyes. They are similar to the Myvu glasses released earlier this year, but it seems to be more complex and allow more options than iPod viewing.

There are three parts of the PCS. The Viewer is the visor-like device that sits upon your head and shows off the video o both of your eyes, and it eliminates eyestrain. The second part is the Liberator, a box attached to the Viewer that has many input ports, allowing you to plug in your iPod, DVD Player, or a computer. The Navigator is the remote control that controls viewing settings.

It will be released to the public in April of 2007 for $499, which is steep for a lot of people. A LAN Party will be hosted by HeadPlay at CES, which will allow the press to take video of the unit and the demo the unit. SlashGear will be attending.
