Have a look at the first Nintendo Switch commercial

We found out a lot of new information about the Nintendo Switch at the end of last week, and sure enough, the marketing machine is now rolling in a big way. Nintendo has wasted no time in delivering the first commercial for Nintendo Switch, and it's no surprise that Zelda is coming along for the ride.

In a mere 30 seconds, Nintendo takes us through the three configurations of the Switch. We see a man who is perhaps the earliest of Switch adopters start out by playing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on his TV at home. He then removes the Switch from its dock and takes it on a bus journey with him, where he plays more Zelda in the Switch's tablet configuration, as the woman sitting next to him looks on in wonder.

Finally, we see him playing Zelda on a plane, using the built-in stand on the Switch console and the Joy Con controllers with their gamepad dock. Personally, I think it's an effective commercial that shows off the basic functionality of the Switch. That's a pretty big deal, because producing clear and effective marketing was something Nintendo struggled with throughout the Wii U's lifespan.

The Switch, we recently found out, will launch on March 3. It's releasing at a $300 price point without any pack-in games, something which has proven to be a sticking point with some players. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, which was shown off in this commercial, will be releasing alongside the console, and is easily the Switch's biggest launch title.

Nintendo has announced quite a few games for the Switch already, including titles like Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. Will it be enough to make the Switch a success where the Wii U was a failure? Time will ultimately tell, but for now, things are looking pretty good for Nintendo and its new console.
