Awwww sad kitty. At least we were there for the good old days, when we appreciated what we had and when tech wasn't stagnant. It all feels the same now. Like we have reached a plateau. Where are those bendy flexible smartphones and new, innovative communicators we were teased about ages ago?

It is time for the next real evolution. Who cares about how many cores fit into it? Let's get some new functionality and imagery out there, WHO'S WITH MAYYYYYYY!!!!!

A round phone. A bendy phone. A clear phone. A pen phone. A decent watch phone. Make it sparkle, make it dance, make it glow.

No offence bro, but having a Snapdragon S4 instead of Tegra 3 isn't neccesarily a bad thing as the S4 is a beast and is on par with the Tegra 3.

As for the carrier problem, blame your own stupid American carriers who all need a different version of the same phone. If you look at the list of 144 carriers worldwide which will be carrying the One Series it is to be concluded that HTC wants to spread these devices worldwide as much as possible.

And as for the battery problem. Although this phone has an 1800MaH battery, it's actually a Lithium Polymer battery instead of Lithium Ion, which is a massive improvement. Plus the Tegra 3 has the companion core, and DIDIM technology to make the lcd screen more power efficient.

Clearly, concerning some of your arguments, you need to do some research before you open your mouth.

HTC redeemed itself?

Well, they are going into the right direction, but.....

There is (literally) TWO versions of the HTC One. The One X (european version) and the One XL (american version). The One X has 32GB of storage, HSPA+ and quad core CPU. The One XL has only 16GB of storage, LTE and dual core CPU.

Is what HTC showed off today good? Yeah, but the problem is, they are going down the same path, again.

HTC should have made ONE HTC One X. One that worked on American CDMA carriers, GSM carriers and world carriers. And the exclusivity that at&t has is just going to cause variations. Meaning, t-mobile, sprint and Verizon will get "different" models.Meaning you will have the One X, the One XL, the One XS (s for sprint) the One XV (v for verizon) and then the One XT (t for t-mobile). Meaning that you have 5 versions of the same phone. From the beginning it should have been this. The One X. Same phone that would be on t-mobile/Verizon/sprint/at&t and overseas. Also it should have came with 16/32/64GB options.Battery? Well it probably should have been much bigger.buttons? probably should have been software instead of hardware.microSD? well not a hit, but if no microSD, then 64GB version is a must.NFC? fail, especially since ICS incorporates it.The phone is a HUGE improvement. But at the same time fails drastically. This probably should have happened with the One X.~kept the 1.5GHz dual Core snapdragon (or keep, since this is supposedly better than the Tegra 3 quad core CPU)~LTE compatible with At&t/Verizon and sprint's.
~4G capable for wi-max/HSPA+ (worldwide included)~NFC~16/32/64GB versions (microSD added bonus)~software buttons instead of hardware~2000 or larger mAh battery. stick maybe a 3000 mAh battery to be close to that of the RAZR max.Done that, put it on At&t, Sprint, Verizon and t-mobile at the same time? You would have one killer phone. Now? It probably will rush out of the gate and then shortly stumble.

The biggest problem I see is with the buttons not being on screen. There are still a TON of apps that haven't been upgraded to ICS and still rely on the menu button to access settings...etc. On the Nexus, a 3 dot menu button appears next to the on screen buttons to allow access to the menu, but on the new HTC phones.....I assume there is NO way to access settings unless the app has been re-designed? Let me know if I'm concerned about nothing, but I see this as a huge problem at the moment.
