Harman Kardon shows off AVR 7550HD AV receiver at CEDIA

When I watch a movie at home, I like the volume to be up loud enough that you can hear and feel the bass. My wife on the other hand wants the volume down so low you can't hear it in the other room. Harmon Kardon has a new AV receiver it is showing at CEDIA that my wife will hate.

The receiver is called the AVR 7550HD and is hailed as one of the first AV receivers to use Dolby Volume technology. This tech is designed to level volumes across different inputs so when you go from your cable box to your PS3 the volume isn't 6,000 times higher.

The receiver features HDMI 1.3a with support for Deep Color and can pass through 1080p signals. Harman also uses a Faroudja DCDi Cinema digital video processing Torino chipset inside. Pricing is unknown at this time.
