We first heard about a Blu-ray player from Harman Kardon last month. However, it was set to be released in Europe only. But now, a slight name change is bringing the BDP-1 Blu-ray player to the U.S.

The player sports BD-Live compatibility, an Ethernet jack, and support for 24fps speed. It also upscales to 1080p with ease. Audio support includes WMA and MP3 files as well as several surround sound formats including Dolby Digital, DTS, DTS-HD Master Audio, LPCM and Dolby TrueHD.

Other features include a USB port on the front, which allows you to use memory sticks with the device for instant slideshows or music playing. You can store BD-Live content on external media as well. You can get the BDP-1 from Harman Kardon later this month for $499.
