Han Solo's blaster expected to fetch $200k at auction

Fans of the original Star Wars trilogy know that Han shot first. What you might not know is that the original prop blaster used by Harrison Ford when filming some of the Star Wars movies is headed to auction. The blaster below was used by Ford in "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi".

The blaster isn't in pristine condition any more, but it is still expected to bring $200,000 or more at auction. The starting bid is $200,000 and if you get a couple geek collectors in a bidding war it could end up being worth much more than that.

The blaster is officially called the "Harrison Ford 'Han Solo' non-firing DL-44 Blaster. I think that they will easily get the starting bid for the weapon. Too bad it's not the blaster Solo used to shoot the bounty hunter in Mos Eisley.

The blaster in the auction was used by Solo in the scene from Empire Strikes Back where Darth Vader uses the Force to rip the blaster out of Solo's hands. It was also used in the scene in Return of the Jedi where Solo wrestles with the Storm Trooped during the rebel encounter with the Imperial forces on the forest moon of Endor. If you wondered, the blaster is based on a German Mauser C96 pistol, but is made from resin.
