The open beta might not start until Wednesday, but Halo 3 Multiplayer information is already appearing online. Latest screenshots come from Mauricio Freitas, who had a chance to experience the much-anticipated game at Microsoft’s Xbox 360 Lounge.
Open from 5am PDT on Wednesday, the Multiplayer beta will be available to anyone with a suitable beta pass on Xbox Marketplace, or through the Downloads section if you put in Crackdown. It includes three new multi-player maps, at least six new weapons (such as the Magnum M6G Pistol and Missile Pods), a new two-man All-Terrain Vehicle, improved matchmaking and party-system algorithms and, for later critique, a function to save a film of the last match played and either watch or upload it.
Eventually the film option will allow viewers to switch between multiple angles and cameras, saved in 1080p High-Definition with Dolby Digital 5.1 sound. Who needs Hollywood!
