Half-Life 2 Android release: NVIDIA SHIELD on tap

Today NVIDIA has sent us a crowbar. This crowbar is green, and it has the text "What would Gordon do?" It has the Half-Life 2 logo on one side, and the NVIDIA SHIELD logo on the other – this means that Half-Life 2 is coming to NVIDIA SHIELD soon. We must assume that this has been in the works for some time – and that Valve's Source Engine is working with ports of high-powered games very, very well.

This week we reviewed the NVIDIA SHIELD exclusive Android-based Valve-made game Portal. Our NVIDIA SHIELD Portal review should show you how extremely well the teams at Valve and NVIDIA have gotten along in bringing their biggest and best games to the mobile universe, one physical-control-game at a time.

Above you'll see Portal in action on NVIDIA SHIELD. If this is any indicator, Half-Life 2 is going to be a masterpiece as well. Those of you that are big, big fans of Half-Life 2 will have to jump in on the Monday (May 12th) release of Portal to NVIDIA SHIELD and play endlessly until Half-Life 2 is released.

Half-Life 2 is coming to Android, maybe only as an NVIDIA SHIELD exclusive. We don't know when, we don't know in what capacity. Stay tuned as details continue to rush in.
