There has been much speculation as to why the Wii wasn’t launched with the ability to play DVDs and CDs. Even further, people are wondering if the console will support it in a future release. If you’re dying to watch a movie on your precious Wii, there is hope.
The guys over at Nintendo Scene have developed a hack that will allow you to insert your favorite DVD and enjoy. The hack isn’t exactly the easiest, and will require you to have a mod chip installed, but it will get the job done.
You’ll need to download the beta from them, then you’ll be able to boot up to a CD, then switch it out with a DVD. It’s a bit of a pain, but you’ll be the only one on the block that can watch a DVD on your Wii.
