HP ENVY 8 Note gallery

Take an 8-inch tablet, the keyboard from a 10-inch ultraportable notebook, and throw in a digital stylus, and you might come somewhere close to the HP ENVY 8 Note. HP's latest tablet is an oddball, but according to the company it makes a lot of sense for travelers and frequent note-takers.

That audience wants a lightweight and compact tablet – not too big or heavy for reading or browsing on – but the text-entry capabilities that come from a reasonably sized keyboard.

Running Windows 10, complete with some custom note-management apps from HP itself, the ENVY 8 Note could be the Surface Mini that Microsoft seems reluctant to release itself.
