Audi R8 Exterior Gallery

It's flat, wide and muscular - this is the ultimate aim that Audi was shooting for with the upcoming R8.  To that end, I believe they've succeeded.  One quick glance and you're be mesmerized with distinguishing features such as LED headlights which by the way comes standard.  It's designed to extend your field of vision and super bright.  Should you need something extra for say, driving on a race track at night, you might opt for the optional laser version for high beam.  They're complimented by the dynamic turn signals on the front and dynamic turn signals come standard at the rear.

Those looking for Audi's PR jargon describing the R8's chassis – it's their "new multimaterial Audi Space Frame with high proportions of aluminum and CFRP."  What that boils down to is this: the R8 is lightweight allowing it to be agile and rigid in every respect thanks to a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP). The R8 plus weighs in at 3,205.lb which is down by 110.2 pounds compared to the first gen-R8.  The new R8 is the closest thing to motorsport thanks to the use of double wishbone suspension mad from aluminum, while the aerodynamics underbody which integrates a long diffuser boost downforce.

"Motorsport is in Audi's DNA, it is part of our brand's character" says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at Audi. "With the new R8, our engineers are bringing accumulated racing expertise from the race track onto the road. No other model of ours evokes more dynamic emotion, none is closer to a race car. The new R8 V10 plus is the most powerful and fastest series production Audi of all time." And we couldn't help but agree with Dr. Hackenberg.

The new Audi R8 V10 sits on 19-inch wheels with size 245/35 tires in th front and 295/35 at the rear.  Also available should you desire is 20-inch wheels for the first time on the R8.  Tires for this option are 245/30 and 305/30 front and rear respectively.  On top of that, available standard on the R8 V10 plus is high-tech disks made from carbon fiber ceramics of the 20-inch wheels and optional on the V10.

Lastly, how can we write about Audi and not mention the four rings. It's prominently placed on the hood, the single frame radiator grille with honeycomb design is flat and wide to match the low and muscular R8.  This is truly a marvel of technologically advance driving machine.
