With the 2017 Ridgeline, Honda takes a second shot at the midsize truck segment. To do so, its created a far more thoughtful vehicle than the best-selling Toyota Tacoma: one that rides just as smoothly as the Honda Pilot does.

A 3.5L V6 engine and smooth six-speed automatic keep you going, Honda Sensing – an option on lower-end trims and standard on the top Ridgelines – keeps you on the road in and in the lane, and 5,000 pounds of towing capacity keeps your gear with you.

There's also a handy under-bed trunk and the same, clever, two-way opening tailgate which hinges down as well as out. Throw in in-bed audio and a 400W outlet, and you might have the perfect party truck for tailgating.
