2017 Audi R8 Virtual Cockpit Walkthrough Video and Gallery

The 2017 Audi R8 is what dreams are made up of. It's big and bold (enough for Iron Man, I might add), powered by a 5.2-liter V10 generating 540 horsepower and 398 ft-lb of torque. That raw power will slingshot the R8 from 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds with top speed of 198 mph. Opting in for the V10 plus configuration yields 610 horsepower and 413 lb-ft. 0-60 in just 3.2 seconds maxing out at 205 mph. As for curb weight, it's a little shy of 3,400 pounds due to Audi's smart usage of lightweight materials such as carbon fiber and aluminum. Dimension wise, it's 76 inches wide, 174 inches long and 48 inches in height. The biggest key feature near and dear to SlashGear is the Audi Virtual Cockpit.

The new R8 has much more aggressive design featuring a hexagonal single frame radiator grille with motorsport-inspired honeycomb inserts.  Another favorite feature of ours is the laser sharp LED headlights. This is a major plus for SlashGear's upcoming first-drive at the Autodromo do Algarve racetrack because we'll have an opportunity to drive the R8 at night!  It's set to go on sale first in Germany next summer with a base price of 165,000 euros for the R8 V10 and the R8 V10 plus will be slightly more at 187,400 euros. Audi hasn't announce pricing details for U.S. market so stay tune.
