Its useful in cases like the recent one in Washington DC, where police shot and killed a 15 year old. The shooters claim he was threatening them with a gun. Witnesses say they never saw a weapon, and no weapon was ever recovered even after extensive searches by police.

If the suspect didn’t have a gun the gun camera should see that. This should make prosecution of the killers easier in a system that works hard to protect police.

Of course, its a double edged sword. … If the suspect had a gun the camera will see that too. In that light it would help protect police against false accusations.
