We’ve all know that this was coming, but Activision has officially announced what they hope to be their Rock Band-killer. Check out a sweet video of the guitar and drums after the jump.

Guitar Hero World Tour

I’m torn on the drums here. I’m still trying to master four drums and a pedal on Rock Band, and now we’re going to have six pads and a pedal. That’s going to be intense. On the flip side, I’ve always thought that having separate pads for the cymbals would be cool.

One thing I noted during the video was that they claim to have the biggest setlist. I’m really not sure what to think here. At last check there are roughly a bajillion songs out for Rock Band, has Activision really lined up that many tracks? I hate to be a skeptic, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re only counting the songs that were released on the disc. Still, I’d love to see a few hundred songs for this game. You can bet that as soon as I can possibly get my hands on this, I’ll be giving you an in-depth comparison.
