I tend to keep up on rumors involving the Guitar Hero franchise, so this latest announcement isn’t exactly a shock to me, though it may be the first you’ve heard of it. Activision has announced the release of the first Guitar Hero game to focus on the career of a single band: Aerosmith.

Guitar Hero Aerosmith

There aren’t a lot of bands out there that I could see myself rocking out to for hours on end, as I prefer to have a variety of music to play. I think that Activision made a good choice in teaming up with Aerosmith for the new title, as they have a very broad catalog of music to choose from. Apparently the gameplay will take you through the career of the legendary rock band, from their first gig on up. If you’re worried about the monotony of playing only songs from a single band, you’ll be happy to know that there will be tracks from bands that have toured with Aerosmith, or just been inspired by the band.

Look for the game to hit this June on the PS3, 360, Wii and PS2. The PS3 and 360 versions will be developed by Neversoft and will run you $59.99, while the PS2 and Wii versions are being worked on by two separate studios and will only cost $49.99.

The price-tag worries me. I hope theres more tracks than there were on 80s…

I’m just hoping this isn’t the “Guitar Hero IV” of the year - if so - very disappointing…

They could have come out with a better game, still might be cool though…

Getting band-specific is a good idea and good direction to take the franchise. A good thing for fans - they can do a whole concert/career of their fav bands.

It’s a lot smarter than just making Guitar Hero IV, V, Vi, etc that are just like their predecessors with different songs.

I’m one of those who love hard rock foolishly. I love all hard rock bands but I have a special feeling for Aerosmith. This band is so special and has a different style. I do always try to see them on stage whenever they perform near to my town. But I find their tickets a little pricy and can’t afford sometimes. A friend has recommended me this site where to compare ticket prices for free before purchasing and look for the cheapest prices.

Unfortunately, I’ve never have chance to meet them in person. I do really love to.
