GTA Online update brings DIY Deathmatch and Race Creators

Inside the world of Grand Theft Auto 5 and the GTA Online universe there's an update coming down this week that'll allow users to do-it-themselves in a whole new set of ways. The latest in create your own experience abilities comes with GTA Online's Race Creator and Deathmatch, both arriving in a sort of Beta mode here at the start for consoles. Both of these creator modes will be able to be shared with the Rockstar Games Social Club as well.

Inside Deathmatch and Race Creators Beta, you'll have a set of tools – not the full set, but some – that the creators of the original game used to make the in-built modes. Here you'll be creating your own dogfights, street races, and more. Jobs can be created and customized in the following modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Race, GTA Race, and Rally Race.

You'll Users are able to share matches they've made in the Rockstar Games Social Club then download and play matches other players have made. There'll be ratings, a discovery engine, and some real community togetherness to be had. The "Creators Beta" is set to be available as early as December 10th (that's today), so have a peek and expect it to pop up if all goes well.

The competitive team mode known as Capture is appearing this month – again, if all goes well – with a real odd take on the original Capture the Flag mode from other team mode games. Here you'll be rolling out in one of four modes: Raid, Contend, Hold, and GTA.

Rockstar has also noted that they'll be bringing on cooperative heists to the gameplay universe in 2014 as well as a new set of GTA V story modes. There you'll see the continuing adventures of Michael, Franklin, and Trevor unfold – have at it!
