This picture is a little misleading… they didn’t quite drive into water they drove into mud and then the tide came in… so they didn’t actually drive .3 miles in water

* Not that driving in mud towards water is much better…

To be fair, when you use GPS to navigate you to a destination, it does draw a line for you to follow. Allways seeing that line drawn on a road, you might just ASSUME, there is a road underneath that line.
These were some very trusting, naive people and maybe some of the purest of heart. They only stopped because the car couldn’t keep going. Imagine if they had a Jeep or Land Rover.
Gonna have to add GPS warnings in my “life’s lesson” talk with my kids.

I agree. Even if there were a road, and you see that much water ahead of you…why would you drive through it. I would think seeing the cruise ship in the water would be a clear indication there is no road. A five year old child would know better. I have a feeling they must be from the US (sorry fellow Americans, but our education [both in school & at home] is failing the younger generation. there’s just no common sense today.
I’m curious how they “spun” that story once they got home.
