GooTube slapped with lawsuit by English Premier League I think YouTube is a law suite prone site even with DMCA protection. Now the English Soccer Premier League is suing Google for copyright infringement.

The lawsuit was filled in U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York on Friday. The English Premier League accused YouTube for encouraging users to upload copyrighted materials.

According to eWeek, the lawsuit said, “Defendants, which own and operate the Web site YouTube.com, have knowingly misappropriated and exploited this valuable property for their own gain without payment or license to the owners of the intellectual property”

I really want to see how this lawsuits being handle by Google. If Google wins, I think it’s going to be harder for other companies to take a similar shot at Google and YouTube, but if these lawsuits held up in court, Google might needs to re-think how YouTube operates.
