As long as the free part stays free, I'm not opposed to youtube offering a competitive, hulu/netflix/amazonprime like service. But if it's for regular videos, forget about it. I can do without epicmealtime and freddiew for $10 a month.

Really? That's totally unnecessary. With banner ads, video ads, and partnerships, they already take in hundreds of millions - scratch that, many billions of dollars per year. It's stupid to think that they could pull off a subscription service - also when a good few of Google's services are already paid services.

Also, if that happens, it's not like I can convince my parents to buy a subscription to a site that they're not fans of in the first place!
