Why are governments involved? If you don't want to use Google, use something else. Though I am a privacy freak, unless Google starts charging you to use its browser and search engine, it needs to generated revenue from targeted ads. There is also a slew of browser add-ins to keep you private.

For Google to appear to be a privacy advocate of yours is simply a sham.

I completely fail to understand why this is a problem. How is YouTube playing ads based on what you searched in Google Search a problem? They're not selling the information to third parties or anything, just making it much easier for them to offer more relevant advertisements.

Can someone explain to me intelligently why this is so bad? Claiming something like "it's breaching my privacy!" or "they're tracking everything I do!" make no sense and are only used by ignorant people.
