Face recognition is trying to identifying the face. Facial recognition is to identify the face expressions - facial. See dictionary for facial. It&#039;s not always related to skin treatment. There is an adjective - &quot;facial expression&quot;.
I agree, in this article context it should&#039;ve been face recognition as Google doesn&#039;t seem to meant to recognize their expression.
