Google wallet users given an extra five spot

If you're a Google Wallet user, you will know that the services had some issues this year with provisioning and other things. Those issues prevented some users from being able to use the service and Google is looking to make up for some of that irritation with free money. If you're a Google Wallet user, you will notice when you open up the app you have an extra five dollars sitting there.

That extra five bucks is a thank you from Google for putting up with provisioning issues and other things this year. Google sent an e-mail out to customers to tell them that they can now add the Google prepaid card back to the wallet. Some of the limitations placed on prepaid cards for the service stemmed from issues Google had with nefarious users re-provisioning cards to allow them access to the funds of others.

An extra five dollars is a decent apology to users of the service who for a while were likely unable to access any funds they had on the virtual credit cards. Were you affected by the provisioning issues Google Wallet had? Does an extra five dollars make up for it to you?

We are happy to announce that you can now add the Google Prepaid Card back to your wallet with the newest version of Google Wallet, and any funds that you previously had on the card should be restored, unless you contacted Money Network and asked for a refund of those funds. To add the Google Prepaid Card back, you will first need to update your Google Wallet application to the most recent version.
