Qudos on Google (A HUGE advertising company) knowing my spend trends then bombarding me with “targeted” advertising, not for me I’m afraid. Also, phones will become infinately more “nickable” because they become huge credit cards.

This is such a stupid idea. At the end of dinner am I supposed to hand the waiter my smartphone? Maybe I should ask him to fire up the tip calculator while he’s got it. What happens when my phone dies? I guess I can’t buy a train ticket to go home or make a phone call for that matter. Lord knows Android phones certainly have impeccable battery life.

This is technology for technology’s sake. It’s like when the PDA and tablet computer makers were trying to convince everyone they didn’t need pen and paper anymore. Sometimes simple solutions, like incredibly thin pieces of plastic with a magnetic strip on them, are better. Throw this in the ever growing pile of overhyped Google failures.
