I bought the Sony one for $200 its good. You can watch porn on your TV! DUH? And Blue Rays…not as cool! Its way better than PS3 unless you still like games which I’m sick of. I’m going to buy the revue for the living room or wait a month too see what else comes out but the sony one is good. The contoller ROCKS@! don’t let anyone say it sucks. I wish it lit up but besides that its the best controller I’ve ever used/

I can’t believe how many crybabies there are here.. I paid $249 for my Logitech Review, got it up and running with no trouble, its been working great, web, youtube, netflix, etc.. For those that say its lame that they don’t have the update yet, well, duh, thats how it works – with phones, with computers, and with devices like this! The OS vendor comes up with an upgrade, and it takes a month or two for the hardware manufacturers to test it and adapt it to their devices. Get over it, thats how it works!

I bought the Sony TV on Friday the update totally sucks won’t let me on Google TV or connect to the internet at all and can’t speak with an American tech till Monday makes me pissed at Sony and Google it all sucks and if the TVs not online by wed. Will take back and stay far away from Sony products and Google tv as awhile

Have we all been scammed into handing over our hard earned money for products that hold nothing but empty promises? I know its no fault but my own that I’m an early adopter but it seems to me that a company would want to sell a product that they would A) be proud of and B) make me want to tell all my friends about wich would result in more sales. I, like a lot of you, am very disappointed in the follow up from Logitech as far as updates and support for the Google TV. “Coming Soon” is not a date.
Please stop telling us about (and selling) products and services until its COMPLETELY ready to go out.

I hate this update. I used to be able to have pandora open while on my ps3. Why is my ps3 no longer recognized by the system, its HDMI 2 now. No more switching tabs using the search button. Why cant i easily access my bookmarks? Is the market working now, if i downloaded something from gtv’s market before update it was sent to my phone. where is it going to now? not on my phone or my gtv. this update was a fail. 46″ sony gtv

Same thing happened on my Sony BDP last night. The TV was just fine. I tried reconnecting and that didn’t seem to work either. Then this morning, it was connected without me doing anything. So hopefully it will be the same for you.

Any thoughts on where to get a solution to this problem — I have three Sony Google systems in my home. They worked fine for my simple TV and Netflix purposes. Since the update, only TV works. Nothing else does, because they require internet access and somewhere in the update process internet connectivity was lost. Any one know where I can get an answer to this problem?

I’m right there with you !!! I purchaced this piece of crap on a bunch of promisses that never transpired !!! I can’t watch hulu broadcast tv and now I cant watch dish network online and I bought the God damn thing from dish !!!! forget about andriod !!!! andriod has absolutly nothing to do with google tv . there is not even a hint of andriod on there except the stupid logo !!!
i’m just about to disconnect it and put it on ebay !!!!

I’m assuming this might have something to do with Logitech testing on their unit as well? I’m not sure, but I’m eagerly waiting as well.

Now if only Daniel could answer the question I asked… doesn’t seem like Google’s staff does anything but skirt around questions they don’t want to answer.

I bought a Revue because it runs Android and believed it would be a superior product. So far I turn it on check for updates. No updates and turn it off. The media player is poor at best.
I still have hopes the honeycomb update and Android Market offerings will match what Roku has had for years. Otherwise the Revue is off to eBay to fund a Roku 2 purchase.

output as PCM 7.1? I had to hook my Revue up as a standalone device
because I can’t do stereo upmixing (Dolby Pro Logic), since it sends
stereo signals as 7.1 (just mapped to front left and front right, all
other channels present but silent). This is a big deal for people who
want to do simulated surround, and has personally ruined the Google TV
experience for me since I have to run it standalone.

What about when you’re doing stereo sound? Does it switch from 5.1 to two channel?

Even if it did work right with optical (which it doesn’t), this isn’t a proper fix–it’s a workaround. The real issue is getting both HDMI and Optical to work the way it should.

I have it hooked up to my receiver via optical and it outputs Dolby Digital for post processing nicely.

One word: it’s sloooooooooow. (Ok, technically that’s two or maybe even three words.)

Plus, I expected to be able to play all my media, but the media player is a disaster. Doesn’t play all my media (e.g. no flac), can’t open ISO’s and I am yet to figure out how it determines the order of the songs in my folders (it certainly doesn’t follow the file names or song number in ID3 tags).

Dude, it a 99$ box with a fully functional web browser, and can output 1080p, including 1080p youtube and Netflix. Thats worth it right there. Exactly what sort of useful functionality are you expecting? and Original content? You’ve already got the whole www! Sounds to me like you havent even really messed with it yet. Although the menus arent much to look at, and many of the buttons are useless.
