Sorry. I agree with the other fellow. Not password protecting your router is just sheer idiocy. If those people didn't get notified their routers were open by google, eventually someone else would have stolen everything that they had. Google did them a favor by bringing this out in the open. Whether they delete every single bite of data or not even important at this point. The fools who don't learn from a fairly friendly company letting them know will have their data REALLY taken in the future. This is the equivalent of IT natural selection. I'm surprised those fools even know how to turn on a computer in the first place.

NO it's not! We don't expect people to come in whether the door is open or not. We don't expect people to just randomly steal things from us. They have to lock onto our signal which would be like opening the door. They have no right to do that either way.

Do you lock onto your neighbours signal and steal their info or are you respectful enough not to?
Do you mind your government locking onto your smartphone and stealing your information not to mention that they can access any data that you have on your computers at home?
Google could effectively do it whether there is a lock or not on your router if you are logged in.

Hell, there are even programs for finding out codes for wireless routers so don't think having a lock will save you.

The point of this is what is legal and respectful and it should not be the responsibility of the end user.

No, that is like saying you've got your door wide open, and have people of the general public wandering in at random, but you've never seemed to notice or care. You don't even have a string across your entrance. Lesson: lock your wireless access points with even the most basic of security and you'll be OK.

It's not gmail, its every kind of email, and the passwords aren't necessarily from email accounts, they're of wireless networks and more - but, google says they're deleting everything they accidentally found, so no worries! Right?

Doesn't Google have our emails and their passwords already. I'm on Gmail. Do they really need a driving robot. Can't they just look on their own servers?
Seriously how much email is on Gmail or going to and from Gmail accounts. They already have the data. Who cares?
