Google Street View Captures Dead Body on Brazilian Street

Yesterday marked the launch of Google Street View in Brazil, and it doesn't look like everything went as well as the company probably would have liked. Not only did the Google Street View vehicle capture a couple of dead bodies on the side of one road, but it's actually the second image to show such a scene in Brazil. While this isn't the first time a dead body has shown up in a Google Street View sweep, that previous time had a happy ending, where the body turned out to be a girl that was simply playing a prank. That doesn't seem to be the case this time around.

The picture above was taken at Avenida Presidente Vargas in Rio De Janeiro. The other photo in question was apparently snapped at Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. As you might expect, Google is asking anyone who might be using Google Street View and finds anything like this, or anything else inappropriate, to report it to Google via the "Report a Problem" link that's on the bottom of the page. This should help Google clean up Street View.

While Brazil does have a very high murder rate, reports have it that this body was not the result of a murder, but actually a motorcycle accident. It seems that the Google Street View car was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. Google is working hard on removing these images, which are reportedly already gone, as well as any other images they can find. So if you've seen anything, report it.
