The biggest shame was the shutdown of Google Notebook, it was ahead of its time providing the same functionality that Evernote provides today. The difference is, when Google released “Notebook” there wasn’t many smartphones out, and certainly none that you’d associate with using cloud based productivity tasks. Either way, I wish they would have brought it back once we saw the proliferation of the smartphones.

I want igoogle too. The message I saw was: “we could have never guessed when we created igoogle that there would be a smartphone”… what the he11 does “that” have to do with a custom page for your homepage? Get it together google, keep igoogle!!!!!

They are also dropping iGoogle in the not too distant future, which of course is something I use all day every day.. And for what I use it for there is no good replacement. Not a good thing.

Dump Google Chrome since it’s so screwed up and confusing. The industry and end user’s need stability, not more gadget’s just for gadget’s sake. Google Chrome has been a gadget from Day 1. Google Classic has provided a lot of user stability and predictability. Don’t go trying to fix something that isin’t broke in the 1st place !

If you must shut down iGoogle (and you say there is a viable alternative) please lay out that viable alternative clearly so non-technical people can begin using it. If you do not either keep iGoogle running or explain how to get an alternative, I believe you will lose a large number of people who currently are using Google services. I know I’ll be one of them unless you can provide a viable alternative.

yes I will miss iGoogle too – but I’m kind of miffed at the explanation. Google says is that the future is “apps”. really? I would have felt better about it if there were no users or fans said to do away with it. I hope Google will change their minds.

Google just took someone’s idea, play a bit with it, make it part of their “strategy” and then – when peoples start using it – they are “merging” it, or redirecting peoples to some else service.
We start to get boored from Google acts. Google act like a small company which doesnt care about it’s clients.
