Google reach 100,000 apps in Android Market

Google has announced that the Android Market has passed the 100,000 app point, the latest milestone in the company's open-source platform.  The news still leaves Android trailing iOS, however; Apple claim there are over 250,000 titles in the App Store.

Google is yet to put out an official release on the news, with the number being announced by the company's Android Developers Twitter account.  Of course, sheer scale of numbers is only one part of having a successful software download store; there's also the matter of whether those apps are appealing to users, and are organized in such a way that titles of interest can be found easily.  The latter is something both Google and Apple will need to work on as their offerings expand.
