Indeed. And we must thank google for their never ending quest to stamp out physical human interaction. Why ask the hottie behind the counter about the music section when you can ask your ugly glasses? Why go play your ukulele in person and get lucky when you can play it over the internet. So much for the good old days of texting and driving. Now we have instant pop ups that completely block your feild of veiw so you can take out that fire hydrant or pedestrian at full force. google has totally outdone themselves. Im still waiting on a damn smart phone that works like it should.

I have been following this tech for years. A few of the things the media isn't really picking up on yet.

+ If you have vision in one eye, it's an overlay like a HUD, if you have vision in two eyes now you have depth. This means you have full 3D in a way that James Cameron never dreamed of.
+ If you add motion tracking of your hands to depth, you have smartphone like gestures in a 3D environment. An entire gestural language will need to be developed.
+ If you add cameras you also have capability for things like zoom, night vision, range finding, and infra-red heatmaps built into your eye. This part is very much terminator tech

It is best to remember, when looking at this tech, that it is currently in the "brick" phase. By this I mean you should Google 'cell phone brick' and see what comes up. In another 20 years we'll likely be projecting a display directly onto the retina with no glasses at all. The real key is going to be interfacing with the technology since keyboards, mice, and even voice (especially in a loud environment) become inefficient. We should also get used to the computer being completely in the cloud with only a very small receiver somewhere on the body.

Whether it's hiking, surgery, sports, sightseeing, or doing business this technology is more or less the next evolution of the mobile phone (along with something like a sticky pad behind your ear that transmits and picks up voice). Fasten your seatbelts because it's going to be one heck of a ride.

I am 64.
This looks great, but I shudder to think of having to learn everything (remember the 'joke' about trying to programme your VCR (that's a video cassette recorder -look it up).
Howabout a device that just gives one the info without asking what one wants.
I believe Apple got some criticism with its fixed package (non-customisable) Thatt sounds great to me! A thing that just works.
Remember that there is still a world of non-comp-tech people out there. They need baby steps.

For those with perscription glasses im sure you will be able to buy with "add ons" for your own glassses like a "sleeve" or make these with auto correcting lenses using the built in camera.

Additional ideas for this project instead of using your head movement to control, use the white band area as a touch control swipe function.

- The uses for this device are endless. walking along and passing someone and you see above their head maybe a status update or social network friend requests. reminds me of the playstation Home or Wii.
