Google+ Polls might really be for "their" stream

In spite of chatter that Google+ is dead and/or dying, Google hasn't given up hope on it just yet. The social layer to Google services has a brand new feature today, and one that is clearly meant to entice interaction. After being talked about for some time, polls have made their way to Google+, allowing you to source your followers to help you decide on something, or source info. Like a lot of Google+'s stuff these days, this one has a lot more use for enterprise or marketing than consumers.

The polls can be used for anything you want help with. Ask which of two or more items are better, or how often people do things like work out or eat Kale (never. gross.). Readers click on their choice, and the results pop up in place of the buttons.

The polls are slick, and easy to create. Just tap on the "Poll" button when you're creating a new post, and follow the prompts from there.

Cute for consumers, but Pools have a much stronger lean toward advertising. We're not forgetting +Post ads, which take Google+ posts from brands and embed them as interactive ads on regular websites. With +Posts, Google tells brands "The Web is Your Stream", and Polls will likely serve their stream well.
