Google Pixel pre-review videos show all release details

A collection of videos of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL have appeared on YouTube along with explanations of tests being run. These videos shot of and with the devices were captured by a fellow by the name of Matthew Glass. It's alluded to that he's a sales rep from a store like Best Buy – or something – he's suggests that his "rep status doesn't affect [his] perspective of the quality of this phone." Or these phones, as it were.

Just a bit before more "official" reviews of the Google Pixel and Google Pixel came the videos that are posted below. They all come from this one sales rep – as he suggests he is, at least – and posted in turn to Reddit. There, he answered quite a few questions rather frankly.

Above are two photos apparently captured by the devices M.Glass has on-hand, the Nexus 6P and the Pixel XL.

Below is a close-up of these two photos – notice how an entire extra layer of detail can be seen in the photo captured by the Pixel XL.

The video below shows how quickly the Pixel XL boots up from being switched completely off.

Below is a "Camera test" with the Pixel XL and a Nexus 6P. Of note – these devices have similar displays, but the Pixel XL should be a bit quicker due to its processor's more advanced nature.

Next is Google Assistant in action.

The next video is odd. It shows both the Nexus 6P and the Pixel XL playing the same video while the sound is turned up or off on either device.

It's difficult to tell which device sounds better than the other. But perhaps that's the point.

Then there's video stabilization. Electronic Image Stabilization in the device with the camera app – the camera app which is unique to Pixel devices, note.

This video stabilization on the Google Pixel XL is mighty impressive, of that we can be sure.

Stay tuned for SlashGear's full official review which will be coming your way at a time that'll be discussed later. For now, have a peek at SlashGear's own Pixel portal on Twitter.
