Of course, technically anything you create automatically is copyrighted. Although the difference is that some people (like top companies) prefer to have it in paper, or legal documents. I'm a musician and i release stuff here and there, and have it available for download, im not going to say i'm good, but i am going to say im sure I am protected since i have my music production saved, and I uploaded it officially myself.

if you draw a doodle like a stick figure, and post it somewhere you automatically have the rights to your work even with out government papers. Just make sure you sign it (in music add the correct metadata) and you should be 100% safe.

So, my brother compose music. We are in Italy. He hasn't copyrighted his songs. Does he have to go through the SIAE (the local vampires that "protect" artists) or he can just upload his songs on gMusic? Will this be enough to have some rights on that song? Still, consider we are in Italy and not in the US!

I am interested to find out about any answer to the question of Cmgary7, I am in the same situation, have several songs without copyright. There is any option that you can copyright your song at the same moment that you upload it to your webpage?

So what if you don't have your original songs copyrighted? Is that going to be an issue. I write my own music but don't have my music copyrighted so I want to know if I will be safe to buy a page and sell my music without other people stealing it.
