Google Maps released for Apple Watch

The most updated Google Maps app for iOS now works with the Apple Watch. This update allows the users to see recent routes, tap "Home" or "Work" from their watch, and get turn-by-turn directions. At this time, Google Maps does not include a full color map with your directions on the Apple Watch. Instead, users will get directions with an arrow (left, right, forward, etc.), distance until next direction, and directions in English. This app is available for iOS devices from the iOS App Store right this minute.

Google Maps for iOS has a set of new features for it outside the Apple Watch release, including ETA comparisons between driving, transit, walking, and biking. You'll find the ability to call businesses on the list of updates as well as a list of places from whens you'll be able to get directions directly. This update also brings bug fixes, as always.

The Apple Watch update includes the following, simply: "get directions to places now on your Apple Watch." That's all you need.

This update will allow you to see directions on the watch and scroll up and down through directions with your Apple Watch's crown. This is the first update to Apple Watch for Google Maps, so expect additional functionality in the near future.
