I’m not surprised that Google+ is starting to slow down. I like it myself and actually prefer it to Facebook, but Google needs to get off it’s ass and make this thing public and fast. Otherwise its dead in the water.

I don’t believe the companies that are gaming the +1 are using real people – lets do the maths – 50 individual unique clicks for $10 – that’s (just loading up my calculator now) 20 .c per click without the company making any profit – that’s either impossible/ a very bad business model or automated…?

The reason why stats are dropping off is probably because the majority of interest was from web-masters or marketeers and they have now exhausted their friends lists.

And no one has mentioned the 0.9 seconds the button adds to your page loading time which probably G will penalise you for and suggest you point you DNS to them so they can speed up your site for you – how kind!

Oh and another thing – since I started +1 my searches have gone completely up the wall and can no longer get a true result for anything – just because I searched for something a few weeks ago it doesn’t mean I want every result since to the include the relevant keyword plus the topic I have previuosly searched for!

Every time I look at the page for the past week plus it says that even with an invite they are sorry but at temp capacity.
Which I don’t take poorly considering it is just a tech preview semi-open beta thing.

Understandable since every time I have looked at the page for the past week plus it tells me they are not taking new people even with an invite as they have exceeded capacity.
Now people already saying it is done….hahahahahaha.
It is not even out of limited invite tech-preview beta!

I would assume anyone who visits this site would already know that G+ is by invite only. So why would he need to restate that. If he had someone else would complain that every article on here repeats the same thing. If you need to get an invite they have an article about how to get an invite. Just search for “Google+ invite”.

google would have been hoping for organic growth through the spread of invites… they way the flu works it way around the world to infect most everybody..

invite only is just a marketing gimmick it actually has more users now than it would have being released to the general public..

What I’m really finding interesting lately is the
“whats near me feature” or whatever its called. I was on it last night and seen posts from others in my local area raving about restaurants that I’ve never visited. Went and checked one out and I was rather surprised. Facebook doesn’t have that feature yet. =)

Of course things are going to get slow. Its the mad rush and the invite only that gets people in a frenzy. Wait until its no longer invite only and people can come and go as they wish.

I for one welcome our new Google+ overlords. LOL

I use the mobile app almost exclusively so I guess my “clicks” didn’t count in this. I find G+ a pleasure to use. I like the circles idea and the way they implemented it. It’s not as cumbersome as some other past implementations.

You don’t have to be a nerd or geek to appreciate the simplicity of the service and interface. I find the whole thing a breath of fresh air compared to the cluttered, game laden competition.

What terrible journalism this article is. It doesn’t even mention that G+ is by invite only — a fact which is extremely relevant, but not mentioned. Is this article merely link bait — using a preposterous title just to see how many people will click it?

What I’m not seeing mentioned in these articles about active user time dropping is familiarization and set up time being factored in. I have familiarized myself with G+ beta and set up my first circles. For me that was about an hour. Hitwise say an average fall of 35 seconds, which would account for my familiarization and set up time. I don’t see how it can be interpreted as a loss of interest at such an early stage.

Wave and Buzz did not have such a huge start like this, so I’m going to go with no. I’ve been using Google+ and personally like it better than Facebook, except that it clearly doesn’t have as many friends on it. But I’m slowly inviting them 1 by 1 :)

Please don’t yell at me for these comments, you tech nerds tend to get a
little over zealous when someone criticizes Google+. It’s my opinion,
and I am the public that would be using this system too, I’m not a CEO,
not a Tech nerd or business….I’m the average Joe on the street, my
opinion is actually more important.
I’m on Google+ and it’s ok, but nothing amazing. I understand it’s a test system and they have work to do. But I’m not all that impressed, honestly, I’m bored with it already. That would be why people don’t stay on long…..there is nothing to do!
