Google Glass update brings app notifications syncing

Google's smartglasses have yet another update inbound, this one bringing with it new functionality that will make life a bit easier for users. Once it arrives, Google Glass users will be able to see Android app notifications from their smartphone on the wearable, giving a hands-free option to see what notifications you have and whether any of them are worth pulling your phone out for. Those using an Android Wear device will likely already be familiar with the Notification Sync feature.

This is an exceptionally handy update, no doubt good news for those using the wearable. With it, you can use Glass to see what notifications you have without pulling your phone out. Whether its a new email, a social network notification, or something else entirely, you can see what it is at a glance.

The update will be rolling out soon — Google says on its G+ Glass page that "it'll be here on Wednesday", so you don't have to fret wondering when it'll arrive. To take advantage of it, users will need MyGlass version 3.3.0. Check out the video above for step-by-step instructions on how to set it all up.

This news comes after a veritable lull in any decent Glass updates in recent times. The previous update took place last month, when Google introduced some new features that would be useful for travelling, but that didn't have any sort of notable widespread appeal.
