Google LogoGoogle announced today that they are giving free Wi-Fi access to the residents of Mountain View. The 380 access point provided by Google will covers around 12 square miles that will one day be accessible to the whole 72,000 Mountain View’s residents.

Google capped the download and upload speed at 1Mbps, but it can be increased depending on demands. The free Wi-Fi project cost Google around $1 million dollars, but I think that is a small pocket chance to company like Google that have $10 billion dollars cash in hand.
