http://www.slashgear.com/google-forced-to-buy-motorola-to-block-microsoft-15171855/ Feeding Your Gadget and Tech Obsessions Wed, 19 Jun 2013 11:03:00 +0000 hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.5.1 http://www.slashgear.com/google-forced-to-buy-motorola-to-block-microsoft-15171855/#comment-130777 Anonymous Tue, 16 Aug 2011 03:30:00 +0000 http://www.slashgear.com/?p=171855#comment-130777 MS would never have gotten DOJ approval.  Google paid what was necessary to bring Apple and MS to bey.  Before you tell me about Apple and MS already suing Motorola…they sue everybody that has a possibility of getting in their way.  They will settle with Google….just like they would have settle with Motorola.   Because that’s how patent shit works now.   As far as Android OEMs swallowing a bitter pill.  HTC has $35 to $45 million reasons a quarter to applaud this deal.  That’s how much is estimated they paid MS over Android issues in the first quarter of 2011.  Here’s a few more reasons all these OEM SHOULD be happy with the Gogglerola deal.  First and foremost…they continue to be able to use the most popular (and growing in popularity every day) for FREE.  Read that again folks…FREE.  Now memorize it.  Secondly, they are now partners with a company that has 24,000 reason why they can breath a little easier over things like legal fees, injunctions and any other shit Apple or MS may try to shovel.  Finally, they have a partner that has just forked up 12.5 reason they are going to defend Android to the death.   These OEMs have been competing on variations of the Android theme for some time now….and doing pretty well at it.
