Its a great feature. Twitter should have thought about all this when it deserted Google, when Twitter was under the impression that it was too big to need Google any more. Why cry now?

I am not very familiar with the work of the FTC but lately it appears as if its Microsoft's mouth piece or legal arm. It also appears it mainly serves the purpose of regulating all business ventures and practices initiated by Google (this is done at the insistence of Microsoft and its allies). Very soon the FTC is going to lose its credibility. How long will MS, Twitter and Facebook manipulate FTC when they are worse at the game than Google?

At worst the "Search Plus your World" thing will become opt in vs opt out. You can't pass on resigning a deal to get yourself into the top of the list(twitter) and then cry fowl when you're replaced. Either way it is a consumer choice whether to use it or not.

As for privacy people, you don't post private info in a public place(the internet) if you want to keep it private. You make the choice to make an account, you make a choice to share the info, and you make a choice keep the info up. If you're really concerned then make the choice and take it down. Oh wait I'm sorry, when has it ever been about taking responsibility for yourself!
