I said it before, and I'll repeat it again. You have to be out of your mind, and/or not own anything of importance if you trust Google/Android with sensitive information. You guys knew this day was coming, just didn't it would be this soon.

You've missed another point - they also need to steal/find your phone first.

So to access your prepaid account in Google Wallet, the thief needs to:
-Steal/find your phone
-Bypass a lock screen if you have one
-Know what Google Wallet is.
-Be competent enough with electronics to know the crack is, find it and install it.
-If they plan on using your smartphone they will probably wipe it - All Data would be gone
-You can also remotely wipe your data with certain security apps.

What happens with a real wallet with Credit/Debit Cards in it:
-Steal/Find your credit cards
-Start spending away!

And "Hacking Wave" ? How many accounts have been hacked so far? So far people have been just demonstrating a security vulnerability.

"First, you need to actually have an active Google Wallet function on your phone, which limits the subset to only those with a Citi credit card, an NFC-enabled phone, Sprint as their mobile carrier, and enough initiative to apply for Google Wallet. That narrows down the field enough to make it a very small concern, but even among that group, only people who have rooted their phone are at risk."

I'm pro-Google, but get your facts straight...

1. Google Wallet can be used with any credit or debit card by topping off the Google Pre-paid card that Google Wallet gives you.

2. Sprint is not required anymore, Galaxy Nexus user's worldwide actually have the ability to use Google Wallet. Verizon makes it the easiest because we're already in the USA. But using certain apps to emulate a U.S. sim-card gets around the U.S. requirement for international Galaxy Nexus users. A prepaid American credit card may also be necessary though.

3. Initiative to apply for Google Wallet? You mean, go in the Market, download the Google Wallet app and install it? (and get your free $10 from Google?)

4. Root isn't necessary with the second exploit that was released...
